You know, I always react emotionally to the reviews my books receive. If they’re nice reviews, I’m happy for the rest of the day. If they’re not so nice, boy, I’m a bear with a sore paw: do not come anywhere near me. Of course the good reviews set me up on a real high, while the bad reviews (and yep, I’ve received some crackers) leave me doubting my ability as a writer.
Then there are the reviews that strike a note somewhere deep inside, because I realize the reviewer really “got” my book and my characters. This is how I felt when I read Crissy Dionne’s review for Only Tyler at Romance Junkies.
Here’s what Chrissy had to say:
“Better break out the tissues before you start reading ONLY TYLER because I can tell you once I started reading I couldn?t put it down and at points holding back tears was impossible. Jess Dee delves into the emotional dynamics of a close-knit group of friends and demonstrates the impact keeping vital secrets has on them all. All three of these characters will touch your heart in one way or another and have you wishing you really knew them so that you could love and cry along with them. Jess Dee has thoroughly impressed me with her ability to capture her characters honest reactions so that they take on a life of their own. ONLY TYLER is absolutely beautiful and a ?must read? story.”
(Yes, okay, so I italicized the last two sentences. π I thought they should stand out.)
Thank you Chrissy, for a lovely, heartfelt review.
Jess
Congrats Jess – well deserved for this terrific, emotional rollercoaster of a book. Must agree wholeheartedly.
